Today, I took the kids for their 4 year and 4 month old doctor visits. Jennifer and Cullen were late due to Cullen's surgery and recovery. Well, it was interesting, since both kids had to get shots.
Cullen thought the first part of his checkup was cool because he was able to show the doctor some of his impressive 4 year old skills. The fun soon ended when the nurse walked in with the shots. Who gets the most? This is what Cullen wanted to know. He went first. He screamed, and with each shot, he got louder. You can imagine how loud he was after the 4th one. I was able to comfort him and offer him a bubble gum sucker to help with the pain. He was very brave!!!
We had to wake Jennifer. I held one arm, Cullen held the other and the nurse had her legs. We both talked to her. Cullen was so sweet. He kept telling her that it would be over soon, and that he loved her. 5 shots later, it was over. She looked at me during the shots like, what are you letting them do to me? I may have cried more than the two of them today.
Cullen's reward for being brave was Chic-fil-a, and Jennifer's was a lot of snuggling and loving.
Cullen walked straight legged until we got to Chic-fil-a. He was O.K. to play on their playground. As we left the pain became to much, and again he was walking straight legged. At about 4:30 today, we heard the tunes from the ice cream truck. Cullen ran down the stairs to the door. He is able to bend his legs again. It is funny how that leg thing comes and goes.
Tall and thin just like daddy.
