Since, I've Been Away

Since I've been away from the computer that is, lots of things have been going on.

*I'm still pregnant, big, and tired.

*Ms. Aunt Brandi came to visit us for a few days. Cullen called her Ms. Aunt Brandi at random times during her visit. I continued to tell him that it was just Aunt Brandi like he always calls her. He said, " Mom, I am using my manners." How can you argue with that sweet response?
Well, Ms. Aunt Brandi was able to see first hand that I am not much of a host at this point with work, being sick, and being pregnant. Thankfully, my neighbor took her out to lunch and on tours of the town a couple of days while she was here. I think Ms. Aunt Brandi enjoyed her visit with Cullen and the pool. She says she came to see all of us, but we know the truth behind her visit. It was all to see Cullen.

*Cullen is still not wanting to go to school. He likes to stay home with Dad on his non-teaching days. This week at Cullen's school, they are having Johnny Appleseed Week. So, cute little apple things have been coming home. Yesterday a bag painted red, tied at the top, and had Cullen's cut out handprints at the top came home. The following is our conversation about his art project.

I said, "Cullen, this is so cute. Did you make it?"
Cullen answered, "Yes."
I said, "It is precious. Tell me what it is."
Cullen's reply, "It is a bag with paper stuffed in it."

Most 3 year olds would tell you about it. You know the whole decorating thing. Not Cullen. When he looks at it, it is a bag with paper in it. What should I think of this? I guess this project was not for him.

*Some yard maintenance has been taken on. First, we bought a Flowering Bradford Pear Tree and 2 spiral Juniper Trees. We couldn't decide on whether to plant the Junipers in the ground or in pots. Well, we found two great pots, and they look very nice at the entry of our front door. Once the pear tree grows it will be really pretty, also. Right now it is a baby.
The next thing to conquer: We had a flower bed with one Oak Tree and some other trash trees in the middle of our front yard. It was there when we bought the house. After much contemplation, Brent cut down all trash trees, dug up all large roots, and cleared all mulch from the bed. It left a large dirt spot which to me looked better than the trees. Anyway, it was decided that we (he) would grass the spot over. Great idea but noone had grass. So, days later the grass came in, Brent leveled the area, laid new topsoil, and then the grass. Cullen and I provided water, gatorade, and encouragement. It looks terrific now. Brent is a very good landscaper. Thank you, Sweetie.

Sickness, School, Dehydration...

Well, I must go back to August 19, 2007 to explain completely about my nonblogging time.
Cullen had a sore throat and stuffy nose, so I took him to the doctor on Aug. 20 to get it checked before I started back to school. They said it was just sinus stuff and to give him dimetapp. I wanted to be proactive since I need to start school. Well, Cullen got better quick, and I went downhill quicker. While in the doctor's office I caught something horrible. I started school and made it two days before I was at my doctor dehydrated and battling bronchitis w/ a side pneumonia. Of course they could not tell us for sure what I had because they could not do x-rays on me.

A few bags of fluids, a shot of something that we later found out could of killed me, and a breathing treatment later, I was released to come home. This where Brent became nurse, mom, dad, and housecleaner for the next 4 to 5 days. He did a fantastic job. He kept me from the hospital, and Cullen is fine.I have finally made my recovery, and I am back at work. I haven't been able to blog because I have been trying to catch up at school.

We are back to normal. As normal as we ever were.

We go to my new doctor tomorrow. Maybe this doctor will be much better than the last one. Maybe we can find out for sure what our little one is. We threw around the idea of waiting and letting it be a surprise. I can't do it. I want to know for sure.

I hope to be blogging more often now.
