Homework

Cullen is only in Pre-k, and we get to use the excuse the dog ate my homework.

Aggie really did eat it. Here's the proof!

Do you think they believed this sweet face?

Trying

Jennifer is trying diligently to crawl forward. She can go backwards and sideways but forward is a little tricky for our Sweetie! Jennifer also likes to roll all over the place.
Cullen and Jennifer think is very funny when she does this.
She can pull herself up in bed and on other things around the house and at school.
Little Miss Jennifer can say Mama, Da-De, and bi (bye).
WOW, I can't believe it!
Here are a few pictures of our crawler:
Good form!
Left leg...
Right leg... What, I look like my Daddy?
Taking a break!
Here I come...
I'll get it...
OH!!!
My ear hurts!
Forget crawling. I'll stand!
She is still having ear trouble. Her right ear is still completely blocked, and she is on another steroid. We are taking her to a pediatric ENT on Tuesday.
Hopefully, we will find out a little more about the situation.
I feel like the surgery helped her, but she still has problems with the right ear.

Cutie Pies

We had another photoshoot! I am glad Cullen likes to have his picture taken.
Jennifer is learning to like it.

Ear Tubes... The Good and The Bad

The Bad:
Well, we have some ear tube drama. Jennifer continued to run a low grade temp for the remainder of the week after surgery. Friday night it spiked to 102.8, and it took me forever to get it down. The doctor called in another 10 day antibiotic in on Saturday. Infection, infection, infection... Sunday afternoon late, her right ear began bleeding again and then blood started coming out the right nostril. Not large amounts but enough to raise concern. Needless to say she was back at the ENT today. Her right tube is clogged with blood so the blood and stuff has nowhere to go but through the nose. We are to continue with the drops for a week and back for another visit.

Brent found out about the ear wall thickening. It is caused from having the ear infection for so long. This causes her ear canal to be even smaller than normal. If the tubes give proper ventilation in the ear then it can thin back out.

The Good:
Jennifer can hear more. She notices alot of different sounds. It is cute to see her go back and forth to hear her brother, daddy and me. Her balance is better. She was only army crawling, and now just since the surgery, she is up on all fours doing the rocking back and forth, pulling up and rocking to music. She is a lot more confident now that she can hear clearer. Hearing everything muffled for so long must have been frustrating for her.

This picture was taken pre-ear tubes. She would lean forward alot to keep her balance. Now we can't keep her still.

SWEETIE!!!!

Ear Tubes

Jennifer did very well during her surgery today. She was rather grumpy afterward, but calmed down once we were home. Little Miss was giving them the what for when she woke up in recovery.

The doctor said there was a significant amount of puss in her ears. He drained it and put in the tubes. She has a thickening of the ear wall which is something he is going to keep a close eye on. He is not going to release Jennifer at her 2 week checkup as he does most patients. We will be finding out more about the ear wall thickening in two weeks.

She already seems to be feeling better. Jennifer has taken two naps in her bed, has noticed some noises she hasn't heard in awhile, laughed and played alot more and is now asleep in her bed for the night. There is quit a bit of bleeding and drainage but that is normal for the first 4 days. I hope this continues to give her relief!
