Baby Bedding and Decorations

This is the Baby Bedding we have picked out for Jennifer. You can see better pictures of it on Babies R Us http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2541480 and on the Wendy Bellissimo website http://www.wendybellissimo.com/products/product_detail.php?id=66. It is called Butterfly Love.

Right Now...

Jennifer Ashlyn's room is being painted.
Yes, the name is official.
We went and picked out the paint today, and Brent was ready to get started.
Everything is out of the room.
MeMe, Cullen and I taped it up.
Brent got started. It already looks great. I can't wait to show the after pictures.
SUPER DAD...

Our Christmas 2007

Our Christmas started with a visit from PawPaw and GiGi. They came over and spent the night with us. It was fun having them stay the night. They bought Cullen his first BB Gun.
He was very excited. We visited MeMaw, Uncle John, Uncle Bubba, and Aunt Eleanor on Sunday after church. It was good to see everyone.

Brent and Cullen in front of the fire on Christmas Eve. We love our fireplace. It was nice to have a fire during Christmas. The cold weather held out for us to have one.
Cullen left Santa milk and Christmas Candy for a snack. He made sure everything was just right before bed. He opened one present, and we read Christmas stories.
It was very nice to be home for Christmas.

Christmas morning, Cullen was very excited. He opened everything in his own little order, and then placed every gift in a nice stack. Cullen could not believe that Santa remembered to wrap his presents in Spiderman paper. He made this request to Santa. It is such a joy to watch him get so excited about Christmas.
The ESPN T-ball set. He is very good.
T-wrecks Race Track. This is what Brent and I bought Cullen for Christmas
Then MeMe came to stay with us on the 26th. We picked her up from the airport and drug her to Babies R Us. It is close to the airport so it was convenient. I changed the baby bedding on this visit. I like the new one much better. It will be perfect with lavender walls.

MeMe is staying with us until January 1st. This is Cullen opening presents from MeMe and Poppy. We were very glad to see Meme.

My pirates...
Our Christmas has been very joyful. We have enjoyed each other very much.

We missed everyone that we did not get to see.

Thank you all for for the gifts you sent Cullen and us. We love you...

Baby Update 4

We went to the doctor yesterday morning for my checkup and glucose test. Well, the glucola made me very sick and light headed. Brent had to check me in at the doctor because I could not stand up. This is what I heard from my seat:

Brent, " I'm here to check Wanda Estes in. She has glucose test this morning."

Receptionist, "O.K. fill out one of those for me."

Brief Silence

Receptionist, " Name"

Brent, "Wanda Estes E-S-T-E-S"

Brief silence

Recpetionist, "Is she with you today?"

Brief silence as Brent turns to look at me.

Brent, "Yes."

At that point, I was no longer listening because I was laughing. What a strange question for OB-Gyn receptionist to ask a man. Did she think that he was going to sit in for me at this visit? Anyway, it was funny.

I gained 2 pounds in 5 weeks, and the baby has dropped. My doctor drew my blood for the glucose test and was not gentle. I hope things change before delivery, or there could be some issues. I was due to have some other things done but me remaining conscious for them was an issue, so I will have them done in two weeks. He wants to see me every two weeks for the next two visits then switch to one. That is if I am still holding on. Our next ultrasound is not until the end of January. We wanted one earlier, but they do not want to more than they have to.

We discussed preterm delivery again. He says there are no predictors of it happening again, but it doesn't mean that it will not. Just to take it easy and refrain from numerous activities. If my water breaks head straight to the hospital. See you in two weeks and get something to eat.

We made amd dash for my favorite breakfast burrito place. That made it all better. We did a little shopping, had some sweets, and went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was a cute movie. Cullen really liked it.

It is nice to be out of school...

Catch up...

Here is a brief catchup on us:

We got our Christmas Tree. Brent brought the tree in by himself and put lights on it. He hurt his back badly when he was trying to reach the top. After an emergency room visit and doctor visit, Brent is finally better. It still bothers him somewhat but is manageable now.

I thought I was going into labor, so off to the hospital again. I was just dehydrated and that was causing the contractions. Baby has dropped, and I am suppose to be resting alot. We did not go to the baby doctor on the 12th. We had to reschedule. It is the 19th. We will see what he has to say.

Cullen is doing great. He is so excited about Christmas. He has been wanting to go thank all of the neighbors for putting up Christmas lights. He picked his new Christmas ornament out for this year. He was trying to hold out for Batman, but could wait no longer and settled for Spiderman. As he would say, " Spiderman is my favorite Superhero."

Brent is finished with school until well into January. I still have until Wednesday. Come on Wednesday....

Pictures...

Cullen made these at school before Thanksgiving.
Our beautiful tree!
Cullen cleaning up after the tree.
Cullen did a great job at decorating the tree.
There are a lot of ornaments that are at his height on the tree. That is what makes it special... Cullen likes to rearrange the ornaments on the tree.
All of his favorites are on the front, side by side.
This is the same tree that did the damage to Brent's back.
He is doing better, but it still bothers him.
This tree is the prettiest tree we have ever had. I absolutely love it! It makes it more special that my two favorite guys picked it out for us!

Baby Update 3

November 14th was our last appointment. He didn't do anything special but weigh me and measure my belly. Everything is big. He did give me iron because it is low.

Other than that, we are doing well.

Next appointment Dec. 12th: blood work and glucose test. Exciting stuff...

Thanksgiving 2007

We visited Alabama for Thanksgiving. It had been a year since we were in Mobile last. The whole family had a lot to be thankful for, since last Thanksgiving we didn't think Dad would be here with us this Thanksgiving.

Wednesday, we boarded the dogs and waited to talk to the doctor before we could leave. Brent looked for us an alternate route on the internet since I-10 was closed betwen Lafayette and Baton Rouge. By the way 190 was a nightmare. Small towns and no food. That did not make for good traveling. We made it to Alabama late but safely.

Thursday, the whole family came to my Mom and Dad's. There was lots of eating and playing among the kids. It was great to see everyone and to be able to sit, relax, and visit.

Friday, we did go shopping but not early by any means. We just hit Babies-R-Us and a couple of other places. I have finally decided on the bedding and wanted everyone to see it. After that we visited Terry, Michelle, and Bo. Bo is so adorable. It was our first time to see him. Cullen was very good with him. He helped me give him a bottle and wiped his mouth. Then we spent a nice relaxing night eating steak and letting the family enjoy playing with Cullen.

Saturday, we headed out. We left Saturday because of traffic and me. I needed to get things ready for the next few weeks of work and school. Trip wasn't to bad coming home. We stopped off to visit Nana before heading on in. It was very late when we finally made it home.

It was a great Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for.

Baby Update 2

Well, baby is growing and so is Mommy.

We haven't decided on a name, yet. We do know what one of her names will be just not the other nor which order they will be. Actually, we have added another to the thought process. Cullen has two he likes and keeps flip flopping back and forth.

I pre-registered today for our hospital stay. They like for you to do things early around here. We will be touring the facility in December, and we are going to take Cullen for a sibling class at the hospital. We aren't doing the whole childbirth classes again. After 36 hours last time, it is still real fresh on my mind of what to do.

Cullen is ready for the baby to come. So, he thinks he is. He is very amazed at how large my belly is. I get things like: "Mom, your as big as a whale." or "Mom, that belly is like a pig." He is very good at analogies.

We asked him last night where the baby would sleep. Anywhere but his room, his playroom, and his T.V. room. Notice "his". We are going to have to work on the word "our".

We have another appointment Nov. 14th. I'm not sure if they will do anything special other than weigh me...

Halloween 2007

Our neighbors JoJo and Mr. Bill.
They had Cullen a very special Halloween Treat. A bucket of candy and treats.

This is our "Spiderman" performing his web throwing and stunts.

He had a lot of fun Trick or Treating around the new neighborhood. He was ready to come home when his bucket was to heavy for him to carry, and after the whole "Just one more house" thing didn't work anymore. Can't blame a guy for trying...

It's A

GIRL!
WOW, we are having a baby girl!
Our visit to the Genetic Specialist turned out to be wonderful news. On our first visit, he scared us to death. Therefore, we were not looking forward to this visit. After weeks of prayer, we were told that he was 99.75% sure that we were having a big, healthy baby girl. The reason for the 99.75% he said was because he cannot say 100%. Anyway, she has 10 fingers, 10 toes, long legs and arms, healthy spine, normal looking heart, and a sweet little facial profile. I'll get pictures scanned as soon as I remember to get them out of the truck. (It is not here or I would do it now.)
A very special THANK YOU to everyone who has had us in their prayers!
We are very blessed...
A girl in the Estes Family. Can you believe it?
We are still not completely sure of her name yet. When we decide, we will let everyone know.
We still don't have an exact due date. I am somewhere between 18-20 weeks. So, I am due somewhere between February 20 something and the beginning of March.

Since, I've Been Away

Since I've been away from the computer that is, lots of things have been going on.

*I'm still pregnant, big, and tired.

*Ms. Aunt Brandi came to visit us for a few days. Cullen called her Ms. Aunt Brandi at random times during her visit. I continued to tell him that it was just Aunt Brandi like he always calls her. He said, " Mom, I am using my manners." How can you argue with that sweet response?
Well, Ms. Aunt Brandi was able to see first hand that I am not much of a host at this point with work, being sick, and being pregnant. Thankfully, my neighbor took her out to lunch and on tours of the town a couple of days while she was here. I think Ms. Aunt Brandi enjoyed her visit with Cullen and the pool. She says she came to see all of us, but we know the truth behind her visit. It was all to see Cullen.

*Cullen is still not wanting to go to school. He likes to stay home with Dad on his non-teaching days. This week at Cullen's school, they are having Johnny Appleseed Week. So, cute little apple things have been coming home. Yesterday a bag painted red, tied at the top, and had Cullen's cut out handprints at the top came home. The following is our conversation about his art project.

I said, "Cullen, this is so cute. Did you make it?"
Cullen answered, "Yes."
I said, "It is precious. Tell me what it is."
Cullen's reply, "It is a bag with paper stuffed in it."

Most 3 year olds would tell you about it. You know the whole decorating thing. Not Cullen. When he looks at it, it is a bag with paper in it. What should I think of this? I guess this project was not for him.

*Some yard maintenance has been taken on. First, we bought a Flowering Bradford Pear Tree and 2 spiral Juniper Trees. We couldn't decide on whether to plant the Junipers in the ground or in pots. Well, we found two great pots, and they look very nice at the entry of our front door. Once the pear tree grows it will be really pretty, also. Right now it is a baby.
The next thing to conquer: We had a flower bed with one Oak Tree and some other trash trees in the middle of our front yard. It was there when we bought the house. After much contemplation, Brent cut down all trash trees, dug up all large roots, and cleared all mulch from the bed. It left a large dirt spot which to me looked better than the trees. Anyway, it was decided that we (he) would grass the spot over. Great idea but noone had grass. So, days later the grass came in, Brent leveled the area, laid new topsoil, and then the grass. Cullen and I provided water, gatorade, and encouragement. It looks terrific now. Brent is a very good landscaper. Thank you, Sweetie.

Sickness, School, Dehydration...

Well, I must go back to August 19, 2007 to explain completely about my nonblogging time.
Cullen had a sore throat and stuffy nose, so I took him to the doctor on Aug. 20 to get it checked before I started back to school. They said it was just sinus stuff and to give him dimetapp. I wanted to be proactive since I need to start school. Well, Cullen got better quick, and I went downhill quicker. While in the doctor's office I caught something horrible. I started school and made it two days before I was at my doctor dehydrated and battling bronchitis w/ a side pneumonia. Of course they could not tell us for sure what I had because they could not do x-rays on me.

A few bags of fluids, a shot of something that we later found out could of killed me, and a breathing treatment later, I was released to come home. This where Brent became nurse, mom, dad, and housecleaner for the next 4 to 5 days. He did a fantastic job. He kept me from the hospital, and Cullen is fine.I have finally made my recovery, and I am back at work. I haven't been able to blog because I have been trying to catch up at school.

We are back to normal. As normal as we ever were.

We go to my new doctor tomorrow. Maybe this doctor will be much better than the last one. Maybe we can find out for sure what our little one is. We threw around the idea of waiting and letting it be a surprise. I can't do it. I want to know for sure.

I hope to be blogging more often now.

Cullen's Cute Words

A few words from Cullen's personal vocabulary:

jeronamo- dramo (as he jumps from anything)

brother- brudder

light saber- life saver

extinct- instinct (The next two are used in conversations about dinosaurs.)

exhibit- incivic

thirsty- firsty

tissue- tennis shoe

These are just a few. My favorite is the last one. He has said this since he started asking for a tissue.

Spiderman

New Spiderman Costume.. .
The photo is a little blurry. It is hard to catch Spiderman on film.

Spiderman has been revealed. Don't tell anyone. He is so cute after a long day of fighting off whatever it is this Spiderman fights off.

Baby Name Update 1

Cullen says, " Mama, we can name one baby George Little Foot, and the other Will Call."

I reply, "What do you mean two?"

Cullen says, "Girl for you, and brudder for me."

Me, "Cullen, I believe we will be having only one baby."

Cullen replies, "Since you are a girl and can't be a boy, then you can have a girl and a brudder."

I'm not sure what all is going through his little brain at this point, but it is to much if you ask me!

Our Pool Boy

Are you watching?

Just Chilling...

One more jump!

Look at my wrinkled feet.

Just a few pictures of our big boy at the pool. He loves the water. He will wear the goggles in or out of the pool. They are his blue glasses.

Cullen's Baby Name

Cullen wants to name the baby:

George Little Foot Estes
George after his squishy Iguana...
Little Foot after a dinosaur...
We have a few months to work on this, but for now it is cute.

Cullen's Thoughts on Baby

Cullen is excited about the new baby as long as it is a "brudder". If we by some intervention did have a girl, Cullen says we cannot bring her home. He wants a "brudder" to share his Spiderman room with. He told me that girls do not sleep on Spiderman beds. I reminded him that I sleep in his bed sometimes. He set me straight really quick. "You are Mama, not a girl." Now that we have that settled, we are working on the idea of a girl with Cullen just in case.

He told his Nana from Alabama that it can be twins one "brudder" and one girl. I believe one is good for us. Healthy is all we ask for. A "brudder" or sister will be great.

June 26th until now...

Hello All!
We have been very busy with moving, painting, yard work, playing dinosaurs, swimming, doctors visits, etc. I have taken my summer very easy. Brent has been teaching, and Cullen and I have been painting, playing, and swimming. MeMe and Poppy have visited us twice and Nana has visited once. It was a lot of fun. I have not been on the computer much at all, so that is why no BLOGGING.

In the new house: I have painted the dinning room Universal Tan and the adjoining hall our own dark, red color that looks more plum everyday. Brent has hung our decorations in both of these areas, and they look great. I have put different color paint strips on the wall in the hall bath, but no color has been decided on. So, it still has strips of different colors on it. Slow and steady with the decorations of the house. Well, for me there will be no more painting. Brent will be taking up the slack for me.

Cullen: He is growing like a weed. He has decided that he really likes summer break and wants to extend it year round. It is going to be difficult for him to start back. He is going back a week early, so we can get adjusted. Brent will be taking him this year to daycare by his work. I can't find one by me.

US: Well, we are growing as most have heard. Yes, we are expecting another little one in March. It was totally unexpected, but it is very exciting. We are praying for a healthy baby due to some health problems I have had. God has a plan for us and our new Little One.

My plan for me and Cullen today is lunch very soon and then a nap. I love naps, again. Especially, since the new one is coming. Then, we might go for a swim.

School's In Session

When Brent got home from work, Cullen was ready to play with him. First thing on the list was school. Cullen was the teacher, and Brent was the student. It went something like this:

Cullen: "Sit down on the steps for school."
Brent: "What is your name?"
Cullen: "I don't know. What is it?"
Brent: "Mr. Estes"
Cullen, "No, I'm Spiderman T-Rex."
Brent: " What is my name?"
Cullen: "Sally."
Sally: "Is it lunch yet?"
Spiderman T-Rex: "It is school all day."
Sally: "No lunch?'
Spiderman T-Rex: "School all day. Now, lets learn about dinosaurs."
(Then Spiderman T-Rex told a story about dinosaurs.)
Sally: "Is this preparing me for my Standardized Tests?"
Spiderman T-Rex: "NO!"
Sally: "What grade is this?"
Spiderman T-Rex: "Orange grade."
Sally: "I think this class is too advanced for me. I'm going to another class."
(Sally gets up to leave. Spiderman T-Rex begins to push Sally back in his seat.)
Spiderman T-Rex: "You can't leave. School's not over."
Sally: "I think it is against the law for you to push me."
Spiderman T-Rex: "No, sit down and watch the dinosaur movie."
Sally: "Is it recess yet?"
Spiderman T-Rex: "No, it is school all day."

It continued on a little longer until Sally convinced him to play ball.

We have noticed lately when playing Cullen exhibits fits of uncontrollable rage. Brent asked him what he had to be so angry about? He responded, "NOTHING!!!!!" Then laughed. He may need some sessions with his Uncle Chris. (It is playful rage)

Babysitter

Brent and I have been wanting to go on a date. The last time we went out, Cullen began his Night Terror stint. I do not want to traumatise again, so we thought we would talk with him about it. It went like this at the dinner table:

Me, " Cullen would you like Ms. Hiedi to come over and play with you in your new house?"
Brent, "That sounds like fun."
Cullen, "No!"
Me, "Why not?"
Cullen, "Will you and Daddy be here?"
Me, "No, Mommy and Daddy might go some where."
Cullen, "Where?"
Brent, "We want to go look for bicycles for you, and we need to go without you."
Cullen, " I can go, too."
Brent, " I thought you liked Ms. Hiedi."
Cullen, "No."
Cullen, " I don't need to play with Ms. Hiedi. I have mommy and daddy to play with."

A few moments later:
Brent to me, " I guess the babysitter thing might not work."
Cullen, " Why do we need a babysitter? We don't have a baby."
Cullen, " We can go buy one. Yeah, that would be fun."
Brent, " What kind of baby would you buy?"
Cullen, " A boy."

Lots of Stuff

Catch up:

So much, has been happening since we bought our house. We are moved in. Not totally unpacked but moved in. We are slowly going to fill our house with furniture and decorations. We have a lot of room. Everybody and animal could have their own room, and there would still be rooms left over. I absolutely love the house and the area. Cullen has agreed to live in the new house. At first he wanted to go back to the old house, but now the new house is fine. He doesn't like change and is a home body like his Daddy.

Cullen became sick with Strep Throat our first night in the new house.

Cullen and I are out for summer. We have been to the pool four days this week. It is alot of fun, and we have met some new friends.

PawPaw Estes came to visit and brought us a dining room table to use. We were large tableless. Thank You PawPaw!

Uncle Chris came to see our new house. Cullen has decided that Matthew and Brandon must come next time Uncle Chris comes. He says they would like to play in his new rooms. Aunt Melissa, you can come too.

We are taking it easy and enjoying our new house. I'll get better at blogging.

New House

We picked up our keys yesterday! Yes, we have a new house, and it is TERRIFIC! We went as a family to our "New House" yesterday afternoon. I got to unlock our new house first.

Cullen let us know where he wanted everything, and what colors his room is to be painted. He has found numerous hiding places for everybody. We had an exciting game of hide-n-seek yesterday. Cullen would take me and Brent to where he wanted us to hide. Then he would go off to count and back again to find us quickly.

Today, Cullen and I are going over to take pictures. I'll download them tonight for everyone to see. We are so excited...

Stuff

Brent went fishing this weekend with some guys from work. Cullen and I went to his Carnival and hung out. It was a nice weekend for all of us.

The mortgage company mailed our house papers to us. They were finally correct. I guess the 4th maybe the 5th time is a charm. We signed them yesterday, and they were taken back yesterday afternoon. We are now waiting to here the final result of this. Do we have the house? Do we get the keys today or tomorrow? Do we even get the keys? If we don't, then we don't have a house. This is it. We can't take it anymore.

Stay tuned for the Final Episode of House Drama...

Weekend Update

Friday, we were suppose to close again on the new house, and it did not happen. Saturday, we went to a Family Reunion with PawPaw Estes and Gi Gi. We were able to spend the day with them, MeMaw, Uncle John, Uncle Bubba, Aunt Eleanor, and many others. Sunday, we went to church, took a nap, and Brent graded papers. Monday, we were suppose to close again on the house, and it didn't happen. If I take off early from work many more times to close on the house and don't, I may have to find a new job.
This mortgage company is something else. That is putting it kindly.
Thanks to everyone who has been helping us and so supportive. We couldn't have made it this far without you!

We Love you...

March thru April 18th

I have not been good at all about blogging, and I am going to offer this excuse for it. We have been knee deep in the house hunt, or should I say Brent has been knee deep in the house hunt. He spends most (all) of his free time looking for houses or information on the internet about houses. Many things have happened since the last post.

The house that we put a bid on well, we took it back. We found another house that I absolutely fell in love with. It was beautiful but crooked. Yes, we had it inspected, and it had many unlevel areas. Built quick but not well. So, that one was out the window. There have been many since then but just not the right one, until...

We found a terrific house, in a great neighborhood, with easy access to everything, and a new construction. It is nice cul-de-sac living with a good sized backyard. We have a contract on the house but things have been happening one after another. Most not for the good. Brent has been on the computer, phone, and meeting with everyone concerning this house. We did our initial walk through and are suppose to close by Friday. Well, I don't know if things are going to happen in our favor despite all the work Brent has done. You just wouldn't believe what he has done. I am trying to prepare myself for what could possibly happen. If we don't get it, it is for a reason and another will come along. I will be disappointed but will get over it. Anyway, we have a contract on a house and will know by Friday or maybe before if we have it for sure.

Cullen had a good birthday. It was four days of celebration. Thursday the 12th, his teachers had a party for him and one of the other teachers. They gave him dinosaur shoes. He wears them all the time. Friday the 13th, I took a dinosaur cake and goodies for his class so he could have another class party. They planned the Thursday party after we already had things for Friday party. Saturday the 14th, we went to The Dino Museum, Imax, and for a train ride. He had a dinosaur cookie cake for his home cake. Sunday the 15th, church and his favorite place to eat. Can anyone guess? Pappadeaux's He ended up not feeling very well so we went home and watched movies.

Thanks for all of his presents. He loved everything.

February

Since the month of February has passed, and I haven't blogged since early in the month. I will try to catch those of you who are still with me up on some events in our lives.

Let me see. The weekend of the 9th, we did go out for dinner and a movie. Only to return to the rest of the weekend filled with "Night Terrors." Yes, we think it was triggered by us leaving and lack of sleep. They lasted for about three days and ended after we sat down with Cullen and discussed with him again why we left him that night. No, we did not leave him with the dogs. He was with a very capable young lady. He just didn't like the fact that we went somewhere, and he had to stay home. As a matter of fact our conversation went something like this:
Brent says,"Cullen, we went off to go shopping for your Valentine's present."
Cullen recants, "No, you didn't. You went to Pappadeaux's."
Anyway, he now forgives the fact that we went out. This is what happens when you never go anywhere without your child.

Saturday the 10th, PawPaw came to visit for Brent's belated Birthday. It was nice. We went to eat at Carrabba's and showed him a few houses we have been considering.

Valentine's Day was quite. Cullen got lots of candy and a few toys. Thanks for all the candy and presents everyone! He loves them.

MiMi flew in on the 15th. Brent and Cullen went to meet her at the airport. We enjoyed her visit. Cullen loved having MiMi at his house. While she was here we went shopping, visited NaNa, visited Aunt Toni and Uncle Roger, and ate a lot of food. She went back home on the 20th.

As you may know we have been house hunting. It has been a long process. We have looked, looked, and looked somemore over the past few months. We have gone back and forth. We have found "The House", but it is to far away from everything and in the wrong type of neighborhood (houses on top of each other). In our search we have found other homes we have liked but haven't made up our minds which route to take.

Just a few days ago, we found a house that is a possible home/investment for us. We put in an offer on it, and now are in the waiting process. It will not be a disappointment if we don't get it because we are looking at it as more of an investment/starter. We've decided to try this and later build "The House" we want. So, here we go on another adventure in the Estes Home.

If we get this house, we will need help painting and laying carpet. So, if anyone would like to help we will definitely take you up on it.

We have been busy! I'll try to get better at blogging. I say this but never seem to get better. Hope everyone's February was grand!

Birthday Flu...

I didn't forget Brent's birthday this year. We had cake, presents, and the flu.
Cullen has been very sick, since last Thursday night. Things like coughing, high fever, runny nose, body aches, and did I mention high fever? Brent and I alternated days to stay home with him. Fever broke on Wednesday morning around 2:30! He went back to school today, and we went to work. He is still not 100%, but he is fever free. Maybe this weekend, we can do a little birthday celebrating with dinner and a movie.

Funny

Funny things said over the past few weeks.

"Cullen, way to use your brain."
"I don't have a brain."

*********************************************************************
Brent asks,"How old do you think Daddy is?"
Cullen answers,"You're 5."
Brent, " No, I'm older."
Cullen, "You're 7."
Brent, "No, how much do you weigh?"
Cullen, "30 lbs."
Brent, "Daddy will be 31."
Cullen, "Firtie-one, oh!"

**********************************************************************

Cullen, "Daddy, what do you want for your birthday?
Brent, "I don't know. What should I ask for?"
Cullen, "Dinosaur bones..."

**********************************************************************

Cullen has a new statement, question (positive, reassurance) way of speaking. It goes something like this.

I ate my dinner. Did I?

I am a big boy. Am I?

You gave me a kiss. Did you?

You are silly. Are you?

Daddy is driving. Is he?

Mommy, I smell something. Do I?

I am smart. Am I?

Daddy is at work. Is he?

Every statement followed by a question of affirmation to his statement.

Weather Day

Today is a weather day! Freezing temperatures and rain. So, we were able to miss school. We stayed at home in the warmth of our home.

I started this blog on the weather day we had. It is now Friday, Jan. 19th. Yes, it has been 10 days since my last blog...

This is what we have been up to. The weekend of the 5th, we painted Brent's new office. Brent, Cullen and myself attempted this. Before we ever began, I made the statement,"This will be fun." I'm not sure what I was thinking at that point. Brent had to complete it himself after 8 hours of chasing Cullen through paint and other things. When we left, it still had blue paint tape on many surfaces and was wet. I haven't been able to see the finished product, but Brent says it looks good.

Not much happened during the week.

Last weekend, we went house hunting. We had decided it was time to buy. We found a house that we like, but it is to far away from Brent's work. We keep going back and forth. Is it time or isn't it... Only time will tell.

This week, we have been very cold. Sleet and freezing temps. What is going on around here? I did get a day off and so did Brent, just not the same days. Odd, I must say...
We have been able to use our fireplace alot. Thanks PawPaw for the firewood. We are enjoying it.

Cullen has new favorite breakfast. It is chicken from Chick-fil-a... Smart boy!

This was a very random blog, but you know what what is going on.

The New Year

I started a blog for the New Year and decided to change it because I was typing in a time of stress. I had just spent New Year's Eve Day in the mall with Brent and Cullen. I believe we were all stressed when we left.

Our world has changed drastically over this past year. We moved, new career paths, new jobs, new house, etc. It has been a world wind, but it has been well worth the ride. We are now on our way to establishing our future. I realize things will change again, but for awhile we are cruising and not racing.

I hope everyone has had a great transition into the New Year and that your 2007 will be filled with love, happiness, and good fortune.

We are very blessed, and I wish all of you wonderful blessings for the New Year...
